"One of my instructors used your sprayer on his chairs and really liked it. I got one on his recommendation and loved it, too. I have a small shop, about 10'x10', and needed something compact yet powerful. Your sprayer worked wonderfully. I started using it on the chairs that I sell. Then my son bought a house and needed to redo his kitchen. We used it on the cabinets, doors and drawers. It was easier, faster and produced better results than if we had finished them by hand. I would recommend it to just about any woodworker. It is very simple to use, easy to clean up and produces professional results on your very first project. I held a chair making class at Appalachian Centre for Crafts at Tennessee Tech University last year. Every student, most were beginners, were amazed by both the ease of use and the great finished results."

I just wanted to let you know that I received the turbine yesterday and everything seems to be working GREAT! I really wanted to thank you and your organization for turning the unit around almost instantly. Customer service means a lot and you were terrific. I wish everyone I worked with had the same level of communications and responsiveness as you. Thanks again.

But at the end of the day what matters the most is how it sprays and I will say I am very happy with how my projects have turned out. For my needs as an amateur cabinet maker, this sprayer gets the job done for me to create professional grade cabinet finishes.

For my workshop making Delta Resonator Guitars, I required a spray unit that covered several criteria: low noise, lightweight, easy to use and able to obtain a truly professional finish. My Spray Station 3000 fit the bill perfectly - and at the right price.

The HV3500 is much better than the Wagner spray guns I have been using, plus Woodcraft included the fine tip as well. Definitely an excellent buy.

First time user of a paint sprayer. The ability to quickly change the distribution pattern is very helpful. The HV3500 is compact, smart design with intuitive clean-up tools.

The HV3500 is a great price and easy to learn how to use. I contacted Earlex with several how-to questions and they responded very quickly. Plan on spending some time practicing and getting the feel for the sprayer. Start with water, and then when you're ready to actually use it, plan on practicing on some scrap until you get comfortable and happy with the output. I was spraying general finishes poly and ended up using the 1.5mm tip for a great finish. When practicing, experiment with different tips, flow control and your speed. Also, go to the Earlex website and review some of the how-to videos, as they were a great resource.

I used General Finish Satin Arm-R-Seal straight from the can in the sprayer with the 1.5mm sprayer tip that comes with the sprayer. Wow! What a nice even mirror finish this sprayer produces. Adjusting the spray delivery level only took about 2 minutes on a test board. It took only 3 minutes to spray an entire dresser for each coat. I am extremely pleased with the performance and would highly recommend this product for home shop use. Bottom line, I would recommend this to a friend.

I recently purchased the Earlex 5000 HVLP Spray Station and have been totally pleased with the product. Compared to other much higher-priced sprayers, this product works great. I've sprayed latex paint as well as lacquer, with good results from both.

I ordered the Earlex HV5000 after seeing reviews on other websites such as the Wood Whisperer and decided to look into it. I am pleased with its performance and it has handled everything from primer on walls to lacquers on furniture. Clean-up is easy and simple, and I have been using thinned latex paints and varnishes with ease.

I used the HV5000 to spray an oil-based polyurethane semi-gloss on a white oak love seat with excellent results. I reduced the polyurethane by 10% to a viscosity of 60 and got a great finish with no runs on the vertical. I also used the optional 2.5 mm needle kit due to the thickness of the polyurethane. Very Important! Practice spraying on some cardboard or scrap lumber to adjust the proper spray volume and use very good lighting so you can see how the paint is applying to the project. The manual is well written. I would highly recommend this sprayer for a small home shop or hobbyist.

I purchased the Earlex HV5000. I read many reviews before making the purchase. I tried latex paint with no or little thinning, keeping the gun close to the job - approximately 4 inches. I quickly started producing professional results. I am very happy with the Earlex...

The Earlex HV5000 was well worth the investment. It did a much better job than I expected to get. Used it to prime and paint MDF cabinet doors that I was quoted nearly $500. to paint. I was able to do the job in two afternoons with great professional-looking results. So it has already paid for itself. I had looked at the other models sold in stores under a different name that had the plastic sprayers but decided to spend the extra money for the better quality metal gun and cup. Glad that I did since it will be getting more use now that I know how good of a job it did. I sprayed latex, which I had to thin just a little, with no problems. Going to order an extra cup and needles for future use.

After doing considerable research into finishing and paint sprayers, I decided to get this Earlex 5000 sprayer and here is what I found. I found no shortage of people who bought cheap HLVP sprayers and were disappointed in how they sprayed and found them a pain to clean up… Now after purchasing this product, I am very happy with my choice. This unit has an all aluminum gun with a Teflon coated pot. Not only is this more durable, but also it makes cleaning much easier. For the most part, cleaning is basically rinsing the gun, filing the pot with solvent (water in my case), spraying it until the liquid comes out clear and then wiping it down. I also found the design of this unit to be very convenient in how it stores it cord and hose compared to almost any other unit on the market (high or low end).

I just wanted to say thank you for producing the 5000 HVLP sprayer. I have been out of work for several months, so we decided it was a great time to remodel our kitchen. I gutted the space and started from bare bones. I designed new cabinets, built and installed them and today I finished staining them. I am positively impressed with your sprayer. This was a large task but I can check this off my bucket list.

Clear instructions, easy to use, easy clean-up. I sprayed a 10' x 12' shed floor with Kilz premium primer figuring it was probably the toughest product for the machine. It was quick and came out nice.

I have recently constructed furnishings for our new church and was very pleased with the results from the Spray Station HV6900. It provided a first class finish to all the products. I would recommend this to any woodworker.

Back in March of 2008, I had a chance to review the Earlex HV5000 Spray Station. The HV5000 is one of the best bargains out there in HVLP turbine sprayers. Despite the excellent performance of the unit, I did have my questions about motor power, longevity, and overall quality of parts. As someone who used to drag my spraying rig around to job sites, I know the beating these units have to endure. So for those of you who need a little more beef in your turbine, the HV6900 just may fit the bill.
The HV6900 features a 3-stage industrial Ametek motor (5psi), a more durable 13-ft hose (with an optional 30-ft super flex hose), front-loading filters, an improved gun design, and weighs in at under 25 lbs. The turbine itself is exactly what you would expect from a 3-stage unit. You can literally see the power of the airflow in the robustness of the spray pattern. A smooth even fan was achieved with numerous finish types and the unit completely atomized everything I threw at it. Now the one thing I didn't test was latex paint. Honestly, I never really spray latex so its hard for me to offer an informed opinion. But when I ran some latex through the HV5000 in my previous review, the results seemed decent enough once the paint was thinned. So my assumption would be that with the more powerful 3-stage turbine, latex would be no problem at all.
The gun on the Earlex is very similar to the old model, but features a new hose connector. I am told it was re-tooled for greater longevity but I never really saw a problem with the old one. But I will say that the gun is not the most comfortable to hold. The air tube does get in the way of your fingers, but its easy enough to adjust your grip.
I have sprayed about 5 projects using this system with finishes including lacquer, water-based poly, shellac and water-based dye. In general, I can safely say that this unit performs every bit as well as my $700 Fuji 3-stage turbine. And the HV6900 retails for less!
