New Spray Gun FAQ's

  • Q. Why does my paint flow adjuster wheel continuously spin so that I can't set my spray gun to maximum or minimum?
    A. Check that the fluid tip is pushed fully into the inner tube and that you have correctly assembled the spray direction pate, air cap and air cap ring.

    Q. I am finding it difficult to insert my fluid tip. How can I make this easier?
    A. Rub some grease on the barrel of the fluid tip and /or the front portion of the inner tube to ease insertion. Always be sure you pull the trigger back when inserting the fluid tip to prevent damage to the fluid needle tip.

    Q. Why is paint leaking from the front of my spray gun?
    A. Check that the fluid tip O-ring is on the fluid tip and that the fluid tip is pushed fully into the inner tube. Also check that you have correctly assembled the spray direction plate, air cap and air cap ring.

    Q. Why does my spray pattern look different than the first time I used my spray gun?
    A. Check that you have screwed the fluid needle firmly in place with your needle location tool, pincer end B. Also check that you have correctly assembled the spray direction plate, air cap and air cap ring.

    Q. Why is my paint container leaking?
    A. Be sure you placed the paint container seal back into the spray gun body and fully tightened the paint container to the spray gun body.

    Q. Why is no paint is coming out when I spray my floor or ceiling?
    A. Check to see if the pick-up tube is oriented in the correct direction, depending on which way you are tilting the spray gun.

Hints & Tips

  • Preparation is essential - remember to mask around the areas you are not spraying.
  •
  • Allow time for drying between coats.
  •
  • Fine coats will generally dry faster than heavier coats. This will allow you to build up coats faster and there is less likelihood of the paint running.
  •
  • Make sure interior rooms are well ventilated when you are spraying and when paint is drying.
  •
  • We recommend the use of a spray mask when spraying.
  •
  • Avoid spraying when windy.
